The room seemed empty.  Dark and deserted,  but there was a faint whisper of life in it yet.  Hiding in the corner  the man shivered. His knees were pulled up to his chest.  He had eyes that appeared dull,  having once been bright...beautiful...alive.  The gray room was damp and chilly.  the bright walls now dirty and crumbling.
An angel stood near the doorway, watching for sometime. She looked away to notice other rooms,  some lit, warm.  Others cold, dark, no life at all. Those souls were gone. Taken by the dark shadows...
A green glow seemed to surround the angel.  Her wings glittery with the irridescent color.  Soft, long locks of dark hair hung on her pale shoulders.  Scars of tears marked her face.  Each holding a name, a memory, a pain.  Her dress was knee length,  the bottom appearing frayed.  Although it's color was white her glow gave it a sweet mint touch.
The angel stepped slowly into the room,  each step lighting a new place on the barren floor.  Every spot she touched became clean, dry, lit up magically.
As she reached the man he looked at her with unseeing eyes. Neither smiling nor frowning.  Just looking into something lost to her, something in himself but far away, misunderstood.  Something from another world. The scarred beauty kneeled before him, staring. In her vision there was the man,  not dirty, but clean.  Not hiding,  but there known to the world, smiling freely. Those hazeleyes bright with life.  Tear scars lay upon his cheeks.  Scars many bare.  Although not as fresh, his lay deeper than hers, almost holes dug into his skin.  She suddenly saw him as he was in front of her.  staring blankly. Shaking.  Silent.
The angel leaned in placing her hands on his temples,  kissing his forehead.  She stayed in this position for a few moments, giving her warmth, her love, trying to give him strength she thought she'd not had.  The featehrs of her wings fell one by one until they were no more.  Blown away to not be seen again. She sat back lookign at him.
The light had filled the room.  Now a turquiose color.  He had taken on a blue glow which mixed with her green.  His eyes were lit with the fire of life, of meaning. Color was restored to his cheeks, even the smile in her vision was there.   They embraced one another in this small room  aomongst thousands of other small rooms. In the middle of thousands of empty , dark, hopeless rooms.  Far from  other rooms like it,  now brightly lit.  A mysterious light carrying a mysterious power.  A lesson to passers by, who take the time to stop and realize. To stop and see all the possibilities that life can hold.

Author's Comments

This is something that I wrote nearly 2 years ago. There are things I'd change now that I've learned more about writing but I didn't want to do that to this.
